Efficacy of the symmetry-adapted basis for ab initio nucleon-nucleus interactions for light- and intermediate-mass nuclei

We study the efficacy of a new ab initio framework that combines symmetry-adapted (SA) no-core shell-model approach with resonating group method (RGM) for unified descriptions nuclear structure and reactions. obtain neutron-nucleus interactions 4He, 16O, 20Ne targets, starting realistic nucleon-nucleon potentials. discuss effect increasing model space sizes symmetry-based selections on SA-RGM norm direct potential kernels, as well phase shifts, which are input to calculations cross sections. demonstrate SA basis its scalability particle numbers dimensions, view toward nucleon scattering capture reactions up through medium-mass region.
